Thank you for your interest in my practice!
I have been practicing massage therapy since 1998 and still enjoy it to this day. As a graduate of MRC School of Massage (Houston, Texas), and the Academy of Somatic Healing Arts (Norcross, GA), I was able to gain an exceptional education in the art and science of bodywork and its connection to facilitating healing. Prior to becoming a massage therapist, I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Communications/Theater Arts from Clark Atlanta University. In addition, I studied dance and photography at a performing and visual arts high school in Houston, Texas. My background in the creative arts blends well with my philosophy surrounding the practice of massage therapy.
I believe the practice of massage therapy is, at times, similar to the art of improvisation. Like many artists, massage therapists study and learn the science and technique of the art form first, insuring that a foundational knowledge is established and understood. Once the fundamentals have been embodied, the practice then moves toward creating work that is developed in the moment, guided by both the client and the therapist. There is no set routine, script, sheet music or formula used. It becomes a moment-to-moment unveiling of where balance, comfort and acceptance dwell.
With over 25 years of experience as a massage therapist, I have distinguished myself as a committed, skilled, and compassionate practitioner of my craft.
